There are a lot of reasons why these kinds of competitions intrigue a lot of people. Before you join the competition itself, it is good for you to understand which kind of competition will suit you the most, here is the explanation that you need to know first.

A Business Case intends to provide a concise response to certain cases or problems that a company is facing. It gives an overview of the company's business model, opportunity, and revenue stream. It's frequently utilized to make a yes/no choice. Business case's main goal is to analyze and see whether a certain decision or move of a company is beneficial or not, if yes then to what extent does it benefit the company?, Are there better options?, and etc.

A Business Plan gives detailed instructions for a firm to follow within a specified time period, typically quarters or years. It must include information about the project's expenses, resources, timeline, owners, and dependencies. It is used to guarantee that everyone is performing their assigned tasks and that everything is proceeding according to plan.

Typically, a business plan is written for investors. The same information may be found in a business case, but in a much shorter format that can be utilized for strategy prioritization and internal budget approvals. It is not always essential to examine fundamentals such as the firm's business model in the context of an existing business.

As mentioned prior to this paragraph, the business case tends to be more heavy with analyzing and solving, and business plan is more of a planning and projecting. Both have their own characteristics and end goal which is the main distinction of business case and business plan.

It all comes to preferences whether someone would pick a business case or business plan, those with analytical skill have better favor of winning bcc more than the chance of winning bpc, and it goes the other way around, some people are more of a planning and projecting, which is key to the business plan competition.
